Q: Help Activation glitch!

I have established ownership of my first iphone (5) and with the help of apple support and Verizon have gotten accounts set up, in both apple and the carrier (verizon). Yet i have a glitch, where the phone after power up, asks for prev. user password. Can anyone help ?

Contact the previous owner. He or she needs to erase the device for you. You can not do this on your own, Verizon can't help you and neither can Apple.
Turn off Find My iPhone Activation Lock - Apple Support

IF you can't contact the previous owner, you have a useless device.
