Q: Problem with iMessage

I just got a new iphone 6 from my carrier. In the store, they took the new sim card out and placed my old one into the 6. I tried to text friends, but they were receiving imessages from my email. In my settings, I am not given an option to change the send/receive from email. Calling my carrier also did not help.
