Adding colour to display

I note in Calendar Help, under 'Manage your schedule', there is a small example screen shot showing various days (month view) with assorted background colours. I cannot find any way to add these colours to my own Calendar display. Is this possible?

I'm running Mavericks, Calendar version 7.

Hi Jack,

Thanks for your question. The different colors that you see represent different calendars (Home, Work, etc.). The resource below provides more information on using the Calendar application in Mavericks. I've highlighted the key information here. Click on the link for complete details.

To change the color or name of a calendar, select it from the calendars list, then choose Edit > Get Info.

To the right of the calendar name, you will see a color box, click on the current color to see more options.

Cheers!
