Thanks it help a bit, but my main concern here is that when iTunes attempts to connect to my iPhone it says the following: "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone 'iPhone' because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iPhone before it can be used with iTunes." Wait, but I can't really login and enter my passcode because my phone is completely disabled. All I want here is to completely recover my iPhone and start from scratch...how can I do that?

If you have Find My Phone turned on, try logging into iCloud.com, using your computer, locate the phone, then erase it.
