Q: Android app of Apple Music takes up all available space (3GB ) and tries for more

I have a Galaxy S5, with 3.2 GB of free space. When I install the app, it starts to get my library, and tries to download more than 3.2 GB of data. This is done without me trying to download individual songs- in fact, my iTunes Match library or playlists I've saved are never made available. It then crashes.

I have iTunes match and an Apple Music. I use my Apple Music subscription on my iPad, and this doesn't happen- the app size stays small. It streams off my library without downloading.

Any idea what's wrong? I tried reaching out to Apple support, but got a guy who didn't seem to understand the problem. He told me I should get a phone with more storage. Do I really need more than 3 GB of space to enjoy Apple Music on my phone?????
