You will not be able to locate, wipe, or anything else until/unless airplane mode is turned off.

May 24, 2016 3:25 PM in response to meghung13by stevejobsfan0123,As roaminggnome says, you cannot track it while in Airplane Mode. The good news is, if someone took your phone, and they try to activate it, they will not be able to because it is protected by Activation Lock. If they do restore your phone, they will have to connect to Wi-Fi during the setup (which they will not be able to complete due to Activation Lock), and then you should get notified if you clicked the "Notify Me" checkbox in Find my iPhone.
