May 23, 2016 11:22 AM in response to pvg502by Strontium90,You want to create a NetRestore image, not a NetInstall. Install installs. Restore restores.
Here are the basic steps. Get typical machine for your environment. Erase it and start clean. Patch the OS and install all 3rd party apps, print drivers, and documents. Set your preferences in the user template if you are not using an MDM. Serialize everything that needs to be serialized. Run everything at least once or remove the quarantine flag on drag and drop apps.
Once you have your image perfect, boot the master in target disk mode and capture a NetRestore image. If you have never done this, start small to get a hang of the process. Once the image is captured to the server, boot another machine and perform the restore.
Be aware that a NetRestore image is best used when erasing the existing drive. If you have data on these units you will need to back that data up first.
Don't add unique settings or values to the image like domain binding or sharing name. You will have some post-imaging steps to unique the devices. Ideally, this should be unique sharing/host name, domain binding if needed, and anything else you can't capture to the image.
