Q: Intermittent Mouse / Trackpad ISS

I have a 2009 MacBook Pro with an intermittent issue where I am able to move the pointer using a mouse and / or the track-pad but the OS will not let me click. I then restart the computer until it happens again.

Can anyone assist? Thank you!!!
