Q: Podcast app still doesn't allow more than 8 playlists

When I had a 3GS iPhone, the podcasts app was actually quite good and allowed me to create playlists on a language podcast. Now I can barely get 8 of these playlists to show up. Even then not all the episodes will display.

 

I'm currently using an iPad Air 2 and the podcasts app has been nothing but crap. Has anyone found a fix for this, another podcast app that actually works or do I need to find my 3GS and sync with with the podcasts I want to listen to?

    Where are you creating the playlists and how are you syncing them?

     

    Are your podcast settings set to keep 10 or unlimited number of episodes?

     

    Overcast might be a good alternative podcast browser.

     

    3GS will not help.

    Creating the playlists in iTunes itself and has been that way since using the 3GS. Playlists are filtered by season and title and usually have about 25 files each in them. I sync via cable to my computer and sync all that are checked.

     

    Playlists are title like this:

     

    Absolute Beginner

    Beginner

    Intermediate

    Advanced

    Cultural

     

    The 3GS has an older version of the podcasts app and was a dream to use. Apple had to mess up somewhere after that.

     

    If Overcast can handle playlists then I'd get it. I would like to know if any other podcast app can handle playlists.

    Update: while the podcast app on my 3GS actually works better, it does crash in the middle of playing one and not all podcasts will sync as they're not compatible. On the ipad though, still doesn't work.
