external hard drive denying access permissions..

I recently purchased an external drive (G-Drive) for my secondary back ups.

Now I get an error message (occasionally) stating that I have no permission to it's contents and I can't eject the hard drive from my desktop.

And when I get access to copy contents to the hard drive it just shows that it's preparing to copy without transferring any contents..

I open the "Get Info" tab and it has my user account to read/write the hard drive's contents.

I should have access to hard drive to do the above actions but somehow it's not allowing me.

I have another external hard drive and it completes all it's activities.

I'm running Yosemite 10.10.5

I'm miffed on this one... ~A~
