Hi,
I have a MAC book pro 10.6.2 and was wondering if I could update it with the latest softwares?
Whenever I click on software update, after my laptop restarts, it doesn't let me log in.
Any help would be great!

You can download the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Combo update which will give access to the App Store for updating your machine to El Capitan by going to Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1

Try running the combo update. That will take you to 10.6.8. Once that is done, after doing a backup, go to the App Store and download El Capitan.
Please go to Menu > About this Mac > and tell us Version, Model, Processor & Memory specs on your Mac.
