Hi

Activity app estimations depend, in part, on your personal information. To check that your personal information is accurate - and to update it over time:

- On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > Health > Edit - tap and adjust items, then tap on Done.

When tracking your activity - including steps taken - during general daily wear, the Activity app relies on data from the built-in accelerometer. Based on this data, the watch measures and interprets your arm movements, translating them into steps and other estimations (exercise, distance, etc).

For the best results, allow the arm on which you are wearing your watch to swing naturally as you move around.

Calibration can improve the accuracy of results by teaching your watch how your arm moves when you are walking or running, including how this relates to your stride lengths at different speeds. It does this by comparing data from the accelerometer with GPS (Location Services) data from your iPhone.

If it is not convenient to swing your arm naturally during outdoor walks or runs (such as if holding dog leads in both hands, for example), it may help to take your iPhone with you and to track your activity using the Workout app on your watch, choosing Outdoor Walk or Outdoor Run as the activity type.

With Location Services enabled on your iPhone (Settings > Privacy > Location Services), your watch can access GPS data from the iPhone to help estimate the results of your activity.
