No right click menu on dock apps

I've noticed a lot of weird mouse issues lately. I'm using the standard wireless mouse that came with my 2013 iMac. The problems I am seeing are as follows:

  • scrolling up and down in a window stops working (using your finger on the mouse itself).
  • two finger left and right scrolling doesn't work
  • right-clicking on an open app icon in the doc doesn't popup a menu (for closing the app) this includes on the trash for emptying it.
  • other weird mouse things (where is my pointer?)

If I reboot, everything is ok for a while.

I have noticed that El Capitan seems to require more rebooting to clear things up. Never my experience with Snow Leopard and Mavericks (on our other macs).

Has anyone else had similar problems? I upgraded last night to 11.10.5. Maybe this has some related fixes. Haven't used it long enough to know.

Thanks

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4), 8GB RAM, 1TB HD

Thanks for the link. It really isn't a setting or configuration issue, since rebooting fixes the problem. But next time it happens, I will check the system preferences (Gestures are configured correctly). Pretty sure they are, but maybe they are getting messed up.

Thanks
