My apple id is ****. I am changing my ISP so I am now using my email address on the cloud.

I was told that I could not use an email address on the cloud as my apple id. I cannot change my primary email

address in my apple id without change my apple id which I don't want to do.

Is there a way to achieve this?

Can you please explain more clearly what you need help with.

For instance, you're using which email address on what cloud? Is it your new email address, or the old one? Is the new email address somehow associated with an iCloud account (AppleID)?

    Some things to consider:

    • You do not have to change your AppleID just because the email address of the same name no longer works; however, you must have a valid alternate email address attached to the AppleID.
    • If you attach an email address to an AppleID, you cannot use that email address for another AppleID.
    • If you have no other Alternate email address other than the one that no longer works, I'm not sure there is a way to recover from that.

Sorry I didn't make it totally clear. The email address I now use is on the Apple iCloud. I have been told by in store Apple staff that if I change the email address I use i.e. the one that is my Apple Id I don't need to change my Apple Id. I was also told I could not change my Apple Id to my iCloud email address.

I am happy to continue to use my old email address as my Apple Id ,what I want to do is remove my old apple ID from my Apple ID Account. I.e. in the reachable section  it includes my old email address and there is no option to remove it. Currently anything I receive from Apple goes to this address and as from 3rd June this address will no longer be active. Is there a way around this?

You cannot use an iCloud email address as the AppleID. You must use another email address.

There is no way around that. The AppleID website used to allow you to have a primary and alternate email addresses. Now it just shows the additional addresses as contact info, so I'm not sure if it still will send messages to any of those addresses.

You said you got a new ISP. Did they also give you an email account? If so, you could use that as the AppleID email (even if you don't plan to use it otherwise).

I am moving to Sky so I'm sure I can have a Sky email address but as well as a Macbook I have an iPhone, my wife has an iPad and iPhone and I really didn't want to go through the performance of changing my wife's and my apple ids . It surely should be a simple process to remove the old email account from the reachable addresses or am I wrong?

Like I said earlier, it used to list a Primary and Alternate email addresses. All of those would get notifications. With the way the page shows the attached emails, I am not certain which ones are getting notified. I looked for old emails about my AppleID, but couldn't find any to see if they were sending messages to all the addresses. You might just try to call them and ask.

Thanks, I think I will do that. When I contact them I'll tell them that all emails from Sky community etc come to the email address that I am losing on the 2/6
