Q: Finder doesn't reveal any documents/files without their being searched

Because I had deleted the Desktop folder like a dip, called Apple and they had me do something like "ds.store DSSTORE" (not exact because i know nothing.) in the terminal followed by logging out/back in.

Fixed the folder problem, though deleted all music not bought through iTunes (I cried, will continue crying later. Blaming myself too, of course, for procrastinating to never backing it all up.) and this Finder problem came with it.  Another call to Apple suggested bring comp into a store, thought I'd try forums first.  If you could help, I would of course so appreciate it..

Phone Apple, aside from store suggestion, was to create new folders for all my files but this is impractical/actually impossible because I've got like 40,000, the names of which I don't all remember so I can't search for them to move into these new folders (And again, the old folders are still there, but can't be viewed normally.)

tl;dr

Title.

iMac 10.10.5

Edit:

Apple support guy called back like a sweet.  Helped to reveal all the files, though I am endless complaints and so now am wondering still if there's a way to show them how they were organized previously, in all their folders.  Otherwise I will really have to sort through them all manually.  so nice of him to call back, tho, that did help
