Q: iCloud and AirDrop

I have a 27" iMac Desktop running OS-X very 10.11.5. The iCloud and AirDrop "favorites" are not listed along with Applications, Home Directory, Documents, Utilities, etc.

On my other 27" iMac those applications are listed. I have a MacBook and have iCloud and AirDrop, although I have not figured out how AirDrop works.

Where do these applications reside? cn

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)

From the Finder menu select Finder Preferences. Check the items you want to always see in a Finder window.

Rysz - Thank you so much. My husband set up the computer from new. Guess he didn't think I needed those capabilities. Now, any chance that you know how to change the home directory to my name. Currently, its under his name, John, and my emails are sent with his name. I think the home directory is part of the problem. Hope you can help. Thanks in advance. cn

I will be happy to try, although it's usually better to post a new question separately, with a descriptive title that will attract experts in that area.

I'm not sure what you mean by "Home Directory." If you mean your User Account that you switch to to be separate from your husband's, then it's set up in System Preferences > Users & Groups. If that pane is locked (lock icon in the lower-left), your husband may need to unlock with the Admin password. You can change the name there.

To keep things separate, everything in that account, including Mail, Contacts, etc, should be set with your information, such as your email addresses and your own Apple ID.

I think by "home directory," you are referring to the ~/ directory (/Users/John).

To change it, that is a rather involved process: Change the OS X user account name and home folder name on your Mac - Apple Support. It's probably not worth it, and is not contributing to the problem as far as I can tell.
