Q: Project/Photo Book in iPad (7.1.2) to be moved to iOX (10.11.5) Photos (1.5)

Hi,

We have an iPad with still the OLD version of iPhoto (2.0.1) and we would like to transfer

a finished photo book (images, layout etc as such) for ordering the actual Book on an other unit (iMac).

Apple does not allow to order photo books from older versions.

How to move the completed project to iOX 10.11.5 and there to Photos (version 1.5)?

Thanks

The projects are not compatible between iPhoto iOS on the iPad and Photos for Mac.

You cannot even transfer all photo books from iPhoto on a Mac to Photos for Mac, because of different themes.

What you could try on your iPad is to save the finished book as a PDF file.  I can no longer try to do that, because iPhoto is incompatible with the system I am having on my iPad, and the iPhoto Help does not describe how to save the PDF file. You are lucky still to have a system that supports iPhoto.

If you manage to save a preview of the book as a PDF file,  you  can have it printed at Presto Photo or another print service.

Otherwise download the photos you used in your book to your Mac and recreate the book there in Photos.

    You are welcome.

The loss of support for iPhoto on the iPad is really sad.
