Cannot establish communications with new UPS

I just installed a new Cyberpower UPS , connected the usb cable to the imac, downloaded and installed the Powerpanel software. I cannot get any comms established wit the imac? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I'm not sure why you installed that software or what you expect.

Try this:

Hold down the option key, click the Apple icon in the menu bar and select "System Information..."
Under Hardware -> Power -> Hardware Configuration does it detect the UPS?

Thanks Duane,

I have already done that and it indicates "UPS NOT INSTALLED". I installed the Powerpanel software mainly to give the imac a soft shut down if the UPS batterys get low. We get a lot of power outages here.

Turns out there was a bad USB port on the UPS. Cyber power replaced the unit, new one works fine. Kudos to Cyberpower tech support.
