ttl vs sleep vs idle

Hi all,

I'm trying to get a handle on this. Server 5.1 (10.11.4) shows afp connections as idle when the users close their laptops and leave without actually disconnecting. At least, I think that's what's happening. Does server treat this event as sleep, idle, or should i set ttl to something other than the default so the server will drop the connection when the client is "gone."

Sorry, there's precious little documentation on this and I'm not really sure of the difference, in a practical sense, between them. I found a post here Re: Users not disconnected from file sharing but no confirmation as to whether or not the poster was right.

Thanks,

Jeff
