Q: Transfer only one time machine backup to new drive
Old Drive A has Time Machine backups for macbook and iMac. Drive A is not partitioned.
New Drive B has been partitioned and my intent is to transfer one backup to each partition.
I cannot drag the Backups.backupdb folder to the new disk as it'll put both backups on the same partition.
Can I just create a folder Backups.backupdb on each partition and drag the backups into their respective folders on their respective partitions?
Thanks.
MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Try using Disk Utility/Restore to copy the backup to a new location. Please note that this will reformat the destination partition.
