Q: MacBook Pro Not Offering Sleep Proxy Service

I have a 2009 MacBook Pro running current OS X that will not wake on LAN (ethernet only, wifi off). It appears that it is not offering a sleep proxy service, even though I have it enable in System Preferences -> Energy Saver.

Console outputs: mDNSResponder[7644]: Not offering Sleep Proxy Service when I put the machine to sleep.

Any advice?

Tried that article days ago. Didn't help.

It seems that my machine thinks that the network interfaces both do and do not support WOMP and WOL.

This seems to be a deeper problem than the article addresses. When in terminal and running
sudo killall -INFO mDNSResponder; tail -1000f /var/log/system.log
I don't receive output that indicates that my interface supports Sleep Proxy Service, but the System Information screen from the article says that my interfaces do support WOL.
