Topic: RME Fireface UFX USB losing connection with Macbook Pro

Hi, I've been searching for an answer to this, but I haven't found anything so I'm hoping someone here can help.

Computer: Macbook Pro Retina (mid 2014)
CPU: 3GHZ Intel Core i7
Memory: 16GB
OS: OS X El Capitan
Audio Interface: RME Fireface UFX (USB) (TotalMix version: 1.21 -- Firmware: v357 -- Driver: v2.10

What's happening is that the sound just cuts out, suddenly without warning, and it seems to coincide with a CPU spike (not a big spike even, but it seems like when it cuts out, it's usually accompanied by a spike.

When the sound cuts out, there is no error. It still says it's connected to the Fireface UFX in the system preferences. Just no sound. The only way to get it back, is to turn the sound card off, and back on, and it works again.

We run 2 macbook pros on this exact set up.. we just unplug the USB, and plug it into the other Macbook Pro, which is very similar in specs, and this issue has never occurred with the other Macbook Pro, so I don't think there's an issue with the sound card, or the cables.. I'm assuming it has to be related to my software setup, or maybe hardware problem.

If anyone can shed some light on this, it will be much appreciated.

Thanks so much!
