automatic rating bug

so.... for years now i've been trying to get an answer... and since itunes just updated and its STILL not addressed... heres my mandatory question yet again.

are you going to put in an option to turn off this horrible horrible feature... which just takes songs that arn't even worth 1 star... and gives it whatever stars it wants. which... is exactly the opposite of what i want... and also... ruins the whole feature of star ratings... the only reason i use itunes...

last time i called your support staff didnt even know this existed.. spent an hour explaining to her the problem... but... not like they can help anyway since this is just dumb programming,..

its been 5 years now... have you figured out a way to turn off automatic ratings? or is that to hard for your programmers to figure out.

Although these scripts are very useful, they don't appear to "suppress" album ratings, only remove them. I just used the "clear" one and although I am happy with the results, I expect them to show up again. I think you are correct that they show up when you rate songs through the phone, which I do all the time. Sigh. A true "suppress" option would be very welcome.

You can suppress autoratings with my scripts ClearAlbumAutoRating and/or ClearTrackAutoRating which set manual values of 1%. There are corresponding scripts to reset things if you want to restore autoratings later.

In recent months there seems to be another issue where syncing after tracks have been rated on a device may cause an album to gain a full rating in iTunes. Hopefully Apple are aware of this issue and will resolve in a later build... maybe. 😕

You seem to be under the impression you're talking to Apple here. You're not. This is a user-to-user support forum. No one here can change anything about the way iTunes is coded. TT2's scripts should help you out some.

You should also submit feedback to Apple here:
