Bluetooth disconnections can be normal. For example: your watch will become disconnected from your iPhone when it moves out of Bluetooth range.
After they next disconnect, if they do not reconnect automatically via Bluetooth a short while after being brought close together again, follow these steps - checking your watch after each one - until they do:
- Check that both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your iPhone:
- It may help to toggle Bluetooth off and on again on your iPhone (Settings > Bluetooth).
- Try toggling Airplane Mode on and off again on your watch:
- When viewing the time on your watch, swipe up on the watch face > swipe left / right to the Settings Glance > tap the Airplane Mode button to toggle the setting > swipe down on the screen when done.
- Restart both devices, turning both off together, then restarting your iPhone first.
For the best performance from your watch, keep both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth permanently enabled on your iPhone.
More information:
- Check that both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your iPhone:

May 26, 2016 6:19 AM in response to suzanne_aby Jonathan UK,You may find that it helps (more generally) to improve connectivity between your Apple Watch and iPhone if you reset the network settings on your iPhone (you will need to reconnect your iPhone to your Wi-Fi network afterwards):
On your iPhone, go to: Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Restart both devices again after doing this.
