How to delete synced photos from computer to phone?

I used to sync my photos from my computer's "Pictures" folder to my phone. I now want this to stop as there are thousands of photos and they take up too much space. I un-checked the box for syncing photos from my computer to my iPhone, told it to delete the pictures, and then synced my iPhone again. The photos are still there and I don't have option to delete them on my phone. How do I get them off of my phone??

Create an empty folder on your computer and call it Delete Photos. It really doesn't matter what you name it, but this will make it easy to find. Connect the phone to the computer, launch iTunes, select your phone under the devices icon, then click on the photos tab. In the Copy Photos from drop down menu, select the empty photo called Delete Photos. Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes and let the phone sync.

See if that deletes the photos.
