Q: Why does my CPU get hot after i have changed harddrive?

Why does my CPU get hot, after i have changed harddrive, even when not running demanding tasks?

I have recently changed my hard drive from a HDD to an SSD on my Macbook pro primo 2011.

Now my CPU quickly rises to high temperatures (70c-80c), even though it is only working at 10% to 20% capacity.

The GPU seems unaffected, always keeping a low temperature. Can it be that the CPU is running tasks that the GPU is supposed to be running?

MacBook Pro (13-inch Early 2011), OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)

Try a SMC reset. It might help:

If there is no change, install a temperature/fan speed application.

Open Activity Monitor to ALL PROCESSES and set CPU to display values from high to low.

When the MBP gets hot, post images of both for review.

You might also run an Apple Hardware Test:

Note that an error free AHT is not conclusive.
