In the support page for the firmware-update is said to click the Update-button. And if that button doesn't exists?? What to do now?

Click on the Red 1 badge
Do you see an Update button?
If yes, click it.
If not, wait awhile. Apple's servers are overloaded it may take a day or two for the update to appear

thanks. It seems I have to wait... if clicking the red badge, the same pop-up appears without Update-button.
Wait until later today and try again.
If the Update still does not appear, power off the AirPort Extreme
Restart your Mac
Then, power up the AirPort Extreme again

I've done as told. The result is:
red badge with the white 1 inside exists as yesterday. But today when clicking on the badge there is no hint that a update available...
Any other ideas what to do?
Please call Apple Support.
Use iOS Airport Utility or do alt klick on the firmware number, which is supposed to be the solution for to install older firmware but also works for the latest. A joke Apple is not able to provide an Airport Utiity within 10.11.5 that works. Had also to search until I found the solution in another forum.
Thanks for that hint - done with success :-) Yes for those reasons I make my updates since a few years with one version delay. I changed 10 years ago from win because of those reasons. And now I feel getting overtaken by history...
