User Tip: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3603 iMac SMC and PRAM reset
Otherwise, take the comp to your local Apple Store or an APSP.

Photos for MacThe OP will need to take it to an AASP, considering the age (about 7 years old) Apple Stores consider a 2009 Mac a legacy box and will not work on them.

At any rate you still need to take it to an AASP for service due to it's age. You can attempt to connect it to another computer to see if it's your computer or the display, obviously if it works on another computer then it's the current computer that is affected. If the display won't work on either computer then the display has failed. This is pretty much what the AASP is going to do as a first step in troubleshooting anyway. If it's your display, when you take it in let them know the troubleshooting you have tried.
