Q: WiFi and Bluetooth Connection is not stable

Phone: iPhone 6S Plus

iOS: 9.3.2

IMEI: ****

Carrier: T-Mobile

After updating the iOS to the latest version. I start to get this problem.

1- Everyday at night I connect my iPhone on charger and it is connected to the WiFi. After wake-up at the morning, my iPhone is not connecting to the WiFi (It is connected to the LTE). Going to the setting --> WiFi , It doesn't show my WiFi network in the list (in fact, it doesn't show any network). Turn the Wi-Fi OFF and then ON, same thing, No Wi-Fi Networks shown. Restart my iPhone doesn't help either. To solve it, I have to do this: Activate the Airplane Mode to disable all the network connection, then Deactivate the Airplane Mode again, now go to settings --> Wi-Fi, it shows my Wi-Fi network and the other networks and it will automatically connect to my network. I have to do this every day and every morning.

2- I start to research on the Web, I found an article says "is some cause I need to reset all the network setting", So I deiced to do it. After resting the the network, Wi-Fi seems to connect to my network and it is stable for the next day. Till this point, the Wi-Fi connection stability has been solved.

3- Then, I start to have another problem! My Apple Watch is not connected to my iPhone any more. The Bluetooth is not connected to my Apple Watch. Go to my settings on my iPhone --> Bluetooth, it shows my Apple Watch and every 5-8 sec it connected and disconnected. Disabled the Bluetooth and re-enabled it, yes my Apple watch is connected and works fine. Couple hours later, again my Apple Watch is not connected.

4- Unpaired and reset all the setting on my Apple Watch. Start to pair my Apple Watch again. It didn't pair. My iPhone can not detect my Apple Watch. Go to Settings --> Bluetooth --> tap on the i icon --> Forget this device. Yes, it paid now and it works fine and no more unstable connection.

Went to bed, wake-up at the morning, Wi-Fi- is not connected any more. I returned to the step number 1.

What is going on? Any suggestion?

Below is a User Tip about Wi-Fi issues. Suggest starting from the top and working down. You may have to do a system restore, step #8, to resolve your issue but try the others first. Maybe one of them will help.

    1) Perform a Forced Restart:  Hold down the Home and Wake/Sleep buttons at the same time for about 15-20 seconds until the Apple logo appears. Allow device to restart.

    2) Reset Network Settings:  Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Rejoin the Network again.

    3) Reboot Router/Modem:  Unplug from power for 2 minutes and plug again. Update Router Firmware (check manufacturer’s support website for a newer FW). Also try different bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and different bandwidths (20 MHz recommended for the 2.4 band).

    4) Change to Google's DNS:  Settings > Wi-Fi > Click on the Network, Delete all numbers under DNS and enter 8.8.8.8 or alternatively 8.8.4.4

    5) Disable device prioritization on the router if this feature is available. Also disable any VPN apps and test Wi-Fi again.

    6) Determine if other Wi-Fi devices on network are working well (other iOS devices, Macs, PCs).

    7) Try device at another Network, i.e., neighbors’, public coffee house, etc.

    8) Backup and Restore the Device using iTunes (ask for additional for details if desired).

    9) Go to an Apple Store for hardware evaluation.

I did all the steps it except No. 3 and 4 cause it doesn't make sense to do it. My iPhone was working fine before the new iOS update. And what, do I need to change my router now because it is OLD! It was iOS update problem not the Router.

I have iPad Air2 and iPad Mini 2. Both works fine in the same Wi-Fi. My wife has iPhone 6 Plus and she didn't update to the latest iOS, WiFi work fine on her phone.

It is very clear there is bugs on the new iOS. Fix it instead of blame the other devices !!

Hey I am not Apple, I am an iPhone user just like you. This is a User to User Forum only and I gave you suggestions to try. I have 4 iOS devices on 9.3.2 and I am not having any issues, neither are my friends. Since you don't want to try the suggestions, like #8 which often works, good luck and have a good day.

I should probably make it clear that you are yelling at other users and not Apple in this forum space. I will say it is strange for you to experience issues with both WiFi as well as Bluetooth, but as a daily driver of this forum, I cannot connect this update specifically to the exact issue you are describing, so yes, it is worth looking outside of the box. This update released several security patches so there might be a connection setting that your router uses that has some complication with this. That's easy enough to resolve from the router side, it was done for security reasons, it hasn't affected a mass number of users by its implementation, and there are steps to optimize your router to best suite the devices you use in your home.

Along with what has already been provided, I will add another article that is relevant...
