Apple Pencil won't charge

I bought the Apple Pencil when it first came out,,,,,, then I realized there was little to use it on. After updating to IOS 11 i decided to crack it out of the box again, on;y to find, it wouldn’t reliably charge, if at all. Didn’t stay connected to my iPad. in short it was useless, and I was very irritated.

Talked to Apple via chat room, arranged a genius appointment in my local apple store, and without much hesitation I was given a new pencil which works!

Is your Apple Pencil less than one year? Still under warranty?

it seems like I have the same issue.

i haven't used mine for months, tried to use it again for some apps. It just keep discounted and connected every two seconds. Might be the battery issue...

You are very lucky. I bought mine and it was barely used but the people asked me to pay $70 to replace it...

Starting with a new Pencil. After about 10 charges the (connector coupling) the device that gets you from the wall charger to the pencil...that coupling begins to lose pin tolerance. So sometimes the pencil will charge and sometimes not. This of course is very irritating. Must be a manufactured defect and Apple needs to make good on it for those that purchased the Pencil. Any feedback to this post would be appreciate.

could be that Bluetooth to pencil is disconnected. Make sure that it is connected by checking Bluetooth under setting.
