Q: podcast features confusing

OK, the web is packed with complaints.  I'll try to narrow my issue down a bit:  Where can I find a glossary or some explanation of the features on the latest Podcast App.  I downloaded and I am using it like a drunkard driving through heavy traffic.  Not much seems to do what you would expect "intuitively!"

The little cloud by the features subscribed starts the play and not mere download.

Once playing, you can't get a podcast to stop, or at times to tag as played.

Sometimes you see a "tag as played" and sometimes "marked as played" - no telling when you see one and not the other.

When "marked as unplayed" is chosen, it still sit there as it was in mid-play status. 

When marked as played, doesn't go away!

What is the little mobile phone looking symbol - can't even touch it without everything else around it to see what it does?
