Q: cannot view dmv files after El Capitan upgrade

I have found that I cannot view or run file extensions such as .wmv. Suggestions?

They will play in VLC. They will play in QuickTime Player if you have Flip4Mac installed (current version).

Thanks dialabrain for the response. I downloaded the latest version of Flip4Mac and I can play .wmv files but the audio volume is extremely low and when I go to full screen mode the image is very dark with horrible contrast. I put in a help request with tele stream. no response till tomorrow as they are closed tonight.

Welcome. FWIW, I use VLC on all platforms, OSX, Windows and Linux. It's the most versatile player, plays the most formats and it's free. However, I doubt the symptoms you mentioned have anything to do with Flip4Mac. Any player is only as good as the source material so if the wmv file is dark with low contrast and low volume, that's what will be played. Plus, many wmv files will be smallish resolution say 640x480 if your lucky so blowing them up to full screen screen will only make them look worse.
