Q: I'm having crash problems and it might be hardware.

My MacBook Pro has a problem after it's sleeping and has a problem waking up.

One Apple Support tech told my he thinks my MacBook Pro has a hardware problem.

I have a lot of logs saved to Notepad and to some emails.

The Apple Senior Tech told me he thinks it's a hardware problem and it could be the Video Card or the Logic Board, but the Video Card is what he thinks.

My questions are:  What logs should I look for that will tell me if it's the video card or the logic board that is causing the Sleep to wake, crash problems or what.  Can anyone give me an example?

I've saves a ton of logs, but don't really now what to look for to see if it's the video card or the logic board that is causing the crashes???

Did you try running the Apple Hardware Test to see if it kicks out an error code?

Check if the MBP has had a kernel panic.  If so, use these instructions to log and post one:

leroydouglas and OGELTHROPE,   I didn't know about the AHT.  I should have asked my question sooner.  I kept looking at the logs after the crashes but I didn't know what to look for. Yes, there was tons of kernel problems and many others. I copied a lot of the logs and pasted them in Notes, but Apple support wasn't interested, but from what I told the last Apple support Senior Advisor, he thought it was the video card and made me an appointment at the Genius Bar. I took it to the Genius Bar first thing yesterday morning and wasn able to read your posts.  I wanted to check my email before taking it in, but it crashed. They ran a test for the video card and it passed twice. They told me Apple has a program that is good until December 2016, because the 2011 MacBook Pro, has a videocard issue.  I left my Mac at the Apple Store for further diagnostics.  I got a call from a Genius about an hour after I got home and he told me they were going to replace the videocard and the logic board at no cost to me, because after running more tests, they found that the video card was bad.

So anyone that reads this post that has a 2011 MacBook Pro, and it has crashed, take it to your closest Apple Store before December 2016 and if your video card is bad, they will replace it at no cost.

Thank you both for your input.  I will keep you posts and links for future problems.
