The site looks exactly like Apple's own site at http://www.apple.com/, but is not owned by Apple. See http://whois.domaintools.com/apple-wholesale-store.com for ownership details and compare with http://whois.domaintools.com/apple.com. Ipso facto it is a fake. Do not buy anything from that site.

That's interesting (possibly in a bad way) - Tucows is/was/used to be a site where they tested/rated Apple products. I remember one magazine I used to subscribe to (which ceased operations and I can't remember the name right now) which would do extensive tests and always used to add the number of "tucows" it had (the more the better).

So I am thinking that someone hacked into the real tucows site and is diverting traffic?

It appears to be an actual store, its just not related to or part of Apple Inc. in any way.

According to their own description:

About us

Consumer Electronics inc. DBA Apple Wholesale Store is a electronic wholesale corporate distributor for retailers and individual clients and was established in 1999 and officially incorporated in 2009 in the state of Michigan. Our company is based in Detroit, Michigan of the United States but maintains a vast customer range world wide. Formerly a physical retail store, our company opted to become a strictly internet based company due in part to the technological boom of the early 90's and 2000's along with significantly increased sales volume upon taking our business to the web. All products displayed on our website are authentic direct from their respective manufacturer. and all mobile devices are all factory unlocked and factory sealed. All devices come with a minimum of 1 year manufactures warranty (Apple Care+) and 1 year international warranty and come with their original accessories. Also per company policy and for security reasons, we do not disclose stock images or client information. We do not sell used, broken or cloned models.

With that said, I would not trust them with my money when they try to impersonate Apple like that.

They could totally be legit, but there's no reason to clone Apple's website like that.

I was going to visit the store, but stopped when I got the red flag from WOT.......

Interesting. I did not get any red flags when opening the website.

Its cloning of Apple's own website however, is not without its issues though. Some links don't work, and layout is sometimes messed up. But otherwise there appears to be nothing overtly sinister about it. Other than it is trying to impersonate Apple's own website.

I do not understand this non sequitur; being tucows is just another registar as point out. Maybe I am missing something?

I'd very surprised if Apple have given permission for this clone of their website. Pretty shoddy job tailoring it to their own business too. This one for example from their terms page.

Apple Wholesale Store administers and operates the apple-wholesale-store.com Site from its location in Cupertino, California USA;

Say what? Down the page it says they're based in Detroit, but we all know who is based in Cupertino, the company they're pretending to be.

Me too, in fact, I'm fairly certain they were not given permission. I'd also say cloning it, is likely infringing on that tiny light grey text at the bottom of every page here:

Copyright © 2017 Apple Inc. All rights reserved.

I don't understand why they would do it. Wholesale of computers is a fairly common business. I doubt they would really need to impersonate Apple to get clients.

They are real company selling apple products wholesale. The site is similar but completely noticeably different. Contact information can be found on their website, they have positive reviews and the website has been active since 2013. The correct url is www . apple - wholesale - store . com (no spaces).

Sure would like to know who's marking your post helpful. Apple legal sure didn't think much of the site. Trying to visit it now returns:

Not Authorized to View This Page [CFN #0004]

I get the same error. Seems to have been taken down now.
