Converted Files Not Allowing For Multicam Clip

Hi,

I asked the following question last night: Converting MTS To Apple ProRes 422 HQ In Compressor

Thanks for all your help and advice. However, I have a new problem.

I used EditReady to convert my files from MTS to H.264 for editing. As I mentioned, converting the files to Apple ProRes made each file around 8 times larger than the already huge MTS files.

The issue I'm having is that I can't use the current H.264 file format for multicam editing. My Angle Viewer is all set, but when I create a new multicam clip (in my case, using just 2 angles) only one of the angles is showing. If I double click on the multicam clip in the timeline, I still only get one angle. It's as though FCP is disregarding the second clip.

I have tried reconverting the file and have even tried working in another project, but I keep getting the same results. Am I missing something simple?

The good news is, the file conversion solved an earlier issue I had of audio popping on the file.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Tom,

Thanks again. Your advice has been so valuable.

I think I'm back in business!

In my settings, I changed Angle Assembly to "Camera Angle" and it worked. It was previously set to Automatic and seemed to work with the MTS files. I am syncing via audio, which, so far has matched everything up nicely.

I've only edited a handful of videos so far. It's been a great learning curve, but I think I'm going to start over, using this method now that I've managed to refine a workflow.

Thanks again and have a great weekend.
