Q: wifi not connecting clash with magic mouse?

Hi,

So I have been having some problems with wifi connection with my macbook pro retina. The internet sometimes will just randomly drop out and not be able to connect again.

The connection problem only happens when connecting to one specific router at home, and all my other devices can connect to the internet just fine. (BT home hub 3 - router). I always end up getting a message of "self-assigned IP" and using the assist me diagnostic and assistant options don't fix anything. I have tried the keychain access method (deleting and reconnecting).

I have recently noticed that I can connect back if i just disconnect my Apple mouse from the laptop and it suddenly can connect to the internet again.

Using the macbook at other places (offices and other peoples homes) even with constant apple mouse use no problems occur. But when I am home, as long as I am using the apple mouse, internet will occasionally drop out and not be able to connect again while the mouse is connected. It is weird to me that it doesnt just cut out if I am using the mouse but only sometimes, and not even straight away. Even on the most recent occasion the mouse had been connected for at least 2-3 hours with frequent use during that period, and then the internet suddenly goes, with re-connecting attempt resulting in "self-assigned IP" message. I am only able to connect back once I disconnect the mouse, and not use it for a while. If I reconnect the mouse, it usually doesnt disconnect my internet straight away but again after a random length of time the internet cuts again.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what is causing this?

Thanks in advance
