I have several credit/debit cards in my wallet. They all show with the default Bank of America card graphic and generic name. Is there a way that I can customize the name, for instance from generic BofA MasterCard Credit to "Spirit Airlines World MasterCard?

No - that comes from the Card issuer - it is not user customizable

The formal name of the card comes from the card issuer - but most online payment systems allow the card holder to give the card a "nick-name" to help the user quickly identify and differentiate one card from another. Next to most other online payment systems Wallet seems short.
