Q: Unable to delete old photo album

I currently have an iPhone 5 32GB with two photo albums that I cannot delete.  Both list the number of photos and "from My Computer".  Hundreds of the photos are duplicates.  IOS 9.1 will not give me any options to delete either of these albums nor any individual photos in the albums.  My Photo Library is 5.9GB, I now have 0 bytes of storage available, and the Calendar App just dumped all my appointments!  Can anyone help?  The nearest Apple Store is 40 miles away.

iPhone 5, iOS 9.1

Some Photos albums are part of the app, such as Camera Roll, and can't be deleted

Images in albums are not duplicates of what you have in your main Library, that you can access via Photos, or All Photos. Albums just use links to the originals in the library.

To reduce the size of your local Library, import the images to whatever photo management app you're using on your computer, then select which images you want synced to the iPhone in iTunes.

Alternatively, activate iCloud Photo Library on your computer and iPhone, set preferences to keepOriginals on the computer, but only an Optimized library on your device.

Did you sync the albums to your iPhone with iTunes Photo Sync?

Then you cannot delete the albums or the photos directly on your iPhone.  iTunes Synced albums can only be deleted by syncing again with iTunes. See this link:   Keep your photos safely stored and up to date on all your devices - Apple Support

(scroll down to the paragraph: "Sync your photos manually with iTunes".
