May 28, 2016 8:24 PM in response to debbifromwolcottvilleby KatViscious,Guess what we R all Screwed This happened to me last week, with my 4S, when I tried to update. I was on the phone (my landline) for hours for 2 days.with Apple Support.
When the only option was to restore the phone, which erases everything on the phone. If u r backed up no problem. That didn't work either because the phone could not complete the update which is necessary to restore. in order to restart. Today I was at the apple store and they tried and when they could not do it either, the told me the inner hardware had worn out. So I asked if I hadn't done the update would this have happened and they said "probably" I asked how is it possible that the hardware wore out just when I tried to update. They said coincidence it was such an old phone it would have done this soon anyway. I say Bull..... Especially since we r all having the problem at the same time. It's Apple's way of forcing u to buy a new phone.
