Q: MAC PRO FLASHING FOLDER WITH FINDER LOGO AND QUESTION MARK

I have a 2009 Mac Pro. I booted it up to hear the Apple chime followed by a long beep. The screen went gray when it turned on, the screen flashed between a finder logo and a "?" The keyboard was never acknowledged, either
