whenever I try to print a .pdf file instead of printing, the system shuts down Adobe.

I have a new MacBook its OSX 10.11.5 and have downloaded the newest version of Acrobat reader.

Whenever I try to print a .pdf document which has opened properly, the system shuts down Adobe instead of printing.

All other documents print fine so I can't figure out why these don't.

Any suggestions?

Hello,

I've purchased a similar computer (MacBook Air - OS X El Capitan version 10.11.5) and when I attempt to print from Acrobat Reader DC, the print dialogue box fails to open.

I'm working in pdfs similar to this one - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5710E.pdf

They're Government of Canada immigration pdfs.

I save the document from my internet browser and then attempt to open it with preview. It does not open and suggests that I should download the latest version of Abode. I can open the file with Acrobat Reader DC and fill in all the information but then when I attempt to print, the dialogue box does not generate - nothing happens.

I've tried opening the completed document in Preview - it gives me the same message that I should be using Adobe.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

When I converted from Windows to Mac about eight or nine years ago, I prepared first by reading books written by David Pogue, an excellent and knowledgeable author. He advised that one of the things Apple has mastered is handling of PDF files. That has been my experience over the years.

I suggest not using Adobe Acrobat if at all possible.

(I have no financial interest in David Pogue, Adobe, etc.).
