As Meg says, you are current with iOS. However, iTunes is not current and as I recall cannot support iOS 9. I believe you need at least iTunes 12.3.2 to support iOS 9. (Current iTunes is iTunes 12.4.)
You can get the latest iTunes from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download ... but only if your operating system can support it.
You need at least OS X 10.8.5 or Windows 7 to proceed.

You'll first want to update the iTunes on the computer to 12.4

Other than updating, you might try restarting both the computer and phone, and then trying again.
