Q: A Problem When Merging Aperture Libraries
I am trying to merge two Aperture 3.6 libraries to prepare them for the migration to Photos for Mac.
The Merge/Add prompt does not appear, and no images are merged into the first library.
I tried to force the Merge/Add prompt to appear by importing a duplicate photo, but that did not help.
I also tried alredy to repair and rebuild both libraries.
Still the merge does not work.
What to try next?
Aperture 3, OS X El Capitan (10.11.5), Aperture 3.6

So this old bug is still around?
You have already tried most of the known work.arounds.
Since repairing and rebuilding did not help,
- Back up all libraries before you proceed.
- Create a new, empty library and merge the first library into this empty library.
- Create a second, empty library and merge the second library into this empty library.
- Then merge these new versions of the library.
Added:
Make sure, you have plenty of free storage on the drive with your Aperture Libraries. Merging will need temporarily much more storage than the combined size of the merged libraries.
