awful hand pointer in safari !

I don't want the hand pointer on my hypertext links. It's ugly. Programmation is bad, I have the pointer outside those links, and even outside safari when I'm lucky. I already had to turn off the shake-to-find thing because my pointer was mad, growing anytime.

I don't want this hand. It's ugly. It's not ergonomic, it's badly programmed, it's not working well. And above all, it's ugly. I want the same arrow all the time.

Thanks a lot! I've deleted the wacom driver and updated this old tom tom. I'll see now, thanks. I didn't try the safe mode. I hope it will be better now.

And I can now post a capture of my mad hand cursor... True picture. I wish I had made it myself but absolutely not. I also have videos...This is my reality. It's simply unbearable...

Thx ! It worked. It seems also that I can now do the cmd+J with more options. Why did this thing in particular work ? What happened?

Safari just crashed this morning. I'd say it crashes every one hour or so... (I'd even say, paying attention to the subtle cues my mad computer frequently feels like sending, that it is fairly vicious and short-sighted).

Dec 13, 2017 7:06 AM in response to Barney-15E

It's changing right under my nose. When in column (normal setting) I have the abridged view options,User uploaded file

and when in list it's the normal options you've shown me.

I don't even have to do +J again, the open options window I opened "abridged" changes right under my nose.

Everybody needs to know. 👿

i'll post something there too. But I think it's much more efficient here. Do you like that hand? It's useless because the links themselves are highlighted. They're losing their times and mine. I would rather have safari windows that does not shut up anytime rather than those useless ugly gadgets...

Dec 13, 2017 7:06 AM in response to Esquared

Really? I guess it's because I'm having so many problems with safari bugging many times a day (all windows shut down suddenly, many times a day) and this pointer growing anytime and this ugly hand appearing outside its place. I guess it's all that. it's too much. I had to say it.

Dec 13, 2017 7:06 AM in response to balsa2

Thank you very much Balsa2.

I've done it.

But something's wrong.

this code I copied:

a {

cursor:default !important;

}

Saved it as a .css document.

There's no "library" in my user file, so I put it in Macintosh hd / library / application support / Apple / safari.

Then charge it, then close safari and then restart the system. But it's not working.

By the way, do you why safari is crashing ?

Dec 13, 2017 7:06 AM in response to balsa2

Actually, it seems dreamweaver modified the code I entered in text edit so I modified it again and now it seems to work a little, many thanks.

I still have the hand on some buttons (reply, cancel chose this file.. and so on ) in specific windows it seems, and I still hate it. Is there a way to make it disappear entirely?

Plus, I still had the hand in the middle of nowhere. (But I can't post photos on this forum, don't ask me why...).

Dec 13, 2017 7:06 AM in response to Barney-15E

Well, actually I suspected that too, but since Apple had me erase my computer and reinstall my system say, 4 or 5 times in a few days, about last year, and given that previously I had broken (several times) a mac book pro out of distress because of this "suspicion" now I don't want to consider this possibility, I just want it to work properly. Is there a way to have this hand disappear?

(if this "supsicion" were true though, I would say those intruders have been enjoying themselves for a looooong time)

Dec 13, 2017 7:06 AM in response to balsa2

When I use either cmd+J or Finder > View > Show View Options, I don't have these options. (still can't post you a picture) : there are only general view preferences like use columns or not, use icons or not, show preview or not.

Dec 13, 2017 7:06 AM in response to Lexiepex

Thx. There is indeed a library in my user file, which I can reach through your method.

(why can't I with Finder > View > Show View Options, or use Command-J then?)

And,

I can't find a safari file in the application support file. There's no apple file either. Would it change something?

Note : the only reason why people did not care about the very few options available on a mac was because it was perfect. This thing is ugly, badly programmed and what else. And I have it in mail, too (I remember very well it wasn't there before). I need this ugly evil thing away.

Dec 13, 2017 7:06 AM in response to balsa2

Again, thank you very much for your help. Do you sometimes have this ugly hand in the middle of nowhere, too?

How do you know @Esquare and @dialabrain, it's been there since 2006 ? Do you sometimes get heard by developers? Do you think they've changed their whole team of designers? What's happening to them ?

Dec 13, 2017 7:06 AM in response to Esquared

If it was well designed, I wouldn't have seen it either. The fact is, their devoting more and more of their time to marketing and appearances than to secure the os environment and improve its accessibility. They' re not even able to have a mouse pointer work properly...

Dec 13, 2017 7:06 AM in response to Lexiepex

I'm not a programmer, and have no time nor desire to become one. The point of buying a computer is that you do not have to design it yourself. This is called work specialization, and has been a HUGE step towards efficiency and abundance. It also helped improve the QUALITY of goods. I shouldn't even have noticed this hand... What happened to them?

Dec 13, 2017 7:06 AM in response to Kurt Lang

Because. When you click on a link you're not looking at the pointer, your looking at the link (unless you have somme sort of coordination and/or more general mental problems, that is). Had I not encountered those distortions, I wouldn't have noticed it.

And I can't believe they've built in such an awful ugly thing in 2006 without anyone complaining.
