Q: el Capitan iBooks 1.5 won't open a PDF

I have recently upgraded my iMac to OSX 10.11.5 and the PDF'  that I had stored in iBooks will not open. If I drag a copy of the PDF's to my desktop, Preview is able to open them. I am also able to open the same PDF's  with iBooks on my iPad mini OS 9.3.2. How can I fix this?

OBS,iMac (24-inch Early 2008), OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)

When you double-click on a PDF in iBooks it actually opens it in a Preview window. Is that what's not working?

Yes that was not working. I did a chat with Apple and they had me try it in Safe Mode, which I did and iBooks worked OK. So I did a restart and now iBooks is working OK. I don't know why that didn't work before, but all is well now.

    Thanks for your attention,
