Even if it did, a Windows "virus" would have no effect on the Mac. Resetting your Mac to factory settings is unnecessary, you just need to get rid of the virus on the Windows side. You should probably just delete the virtual machine in Parallels and then set it up again. In the future, you should install anti-virus on any Windows installation. Doing so on your Mac will not help, and many such programs would hinder the performance of your Mac.

May 28, 2016 11:47 PM in response to B7NMby stevejobsfan0123,If you see a pop-up claiming that you have a virus, it will always be a scam. See: A Browser Pop-up Scam has Taken Over Safari.

To restore to factory settings - which again I don't see as necessary in your case - see this article: How to reinstall OS X on your Mac - Apple Support.

May 29, 2016 8:51 AM in response to B7NMby Eric Root,If you deleted the applications, the space shouldn't be in use. What are you seeing that indicates the space is in use? Have you tried a restart since you deleted the applications?

May 29, 2016 9:07 AM in response to Eric Rootby B7NM,in the disk utility it indicates a yellow color which is about 125gb. when the parallel and windows are installed, the yellow color is already 125gb. so it was suppose to be lessened when i deleted the parallel and windows but did not

May 29, 2016 10:09 AM in response to B7NMby Kurt Lang,Deleting Parallels from the Applications folder only removes the virtual machine itself, which wasn't really necessary. What's left behind that is taking up so much space is the Windows image Parallels created in your user account. I had Parallels installed at one time to test it, but can't remember exactly where in your account it creates each disk image (one for each OS you install via Parallels).
But you can easily look. Click on any empty area of the desktop so Finder becomes the name of the foreground app next to the Apple logo at the top left of the screen. Press Command+Shift+H. This will open your user account folder. Now just start looking. I think it's created in the Documents folder. You'll know when you see it as it's logically named Parallels something. Somewhere in that folder, you should find a 125 GB file, which would be the Windows image. Delete it.

May 29, 2016 11:12 AM in response to B7NMby FatMac>MacPro,As Kurt Lang has pointed out, the Virtual Machine file is separate from the Parallels applications. This Parallels knowledgebase article explains how to locate the Virtual Machine file but most likely it's in your
/Documents/Parallels folder.
