How can I sort my email chronologically?

How can I sort my email chronologically?

I am constantly losing email because Mail now by default threads all conversations. I go looking for an email by date and the after wasting some time I search on the senders name and the email turns up packaged away somewhere in a conversation. Conversations are dated by the most recent email to them. Even if you opt to expand all conversations it still keeps the thread together out of overall chronological order. It used to be easier than this, you would just sort by subject if you wanted to list all replies together. Any suggestions?

Deselect:

Mail.app > View > Organise by Conversation

then the sort will work as you seem to want.

Unfortunately, you seem to need to do this for each mailbox but at least the setting seems to stick once it's off.

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately it does not solve my problem. If I sort by Date Received even when expanded, the contents of the Conversation are grouped together. I want to have a total chronological sort i.e. the emails in the Conversation scattered among other email according to their date of receipt.

Click the 'Date Sent' or 'Date Received' column header once or twice depending on whether you want chronological or reverse-chronological order. Click the 'Subject' header to sort by subject.
