Q: 4th gen shuffle won't restart after error message

Recently, my Ipod shuffle ran out of battery suddenly even though it should have had about 70% left over. I decided to charge it for quite a while, and it seemed to work again, however the talkative woman says that there was an error, and that I have to go to Itunes to fix it.

So I plugged it into my PC, and Itunes said that the Ipod has to be restored, but all it says is restoring and the green loading bar... for hours... I chose to delete Itunes and reinstall it after this, as I saw that other people had done the same with similar issues, but this just made it worse, as now my PC wouldn't even recognise the Ipod.

after a lot of searching and grumbling I eventually when into the device manager/ support tool of my computer and with a lot of fidgeting and poking got Itunes to recognise it again... but still the same problem: it just won't restart.

I have tried everything from everywhere (even looked at some of the Iphone stuff  I got so hopeless) and none of it seems to work. here's some of the stuff  iIhave tried to show any possible good samaritans;

  • deleting and reinstalling itunes
  • updating itunes
  • leaving the ipod to reinstall for a few days
  • removing the ipod multiple times
  • plugging the ipod in both on and off
  • gone to Universal Serial Bus Monitors, and Apple Mobile Device USB Driver, and the USB Mass Storage Devices (which seems to be the Ipod) are all connected and working fine
  • stopped the safety features that affect other Apps from downloading (did this quite a while ago since I use Steam and had issues there)
  • restart the computer with the ipod in, and without
  • Just about everything on the Apple website

I do understand that I'm by no means an expert at this subject (i'm only 15), and am not the best with computers, so any help possible, even from newbies like myself would be great, (I'm on a acer desktop by the way)

cheers,

Desmond,  4th gen shuffle owner
