Your profile indicates your Mac is running v10.7.2. If that is the case, you need to update OS X and most likely iTunes to "Share" from iDVD.
Open the App Store then select Updates from the menu.
Latest version available for OS X Lion is v10.7.5 and iTunes v12.4.0.
Since iDVD has been out of development for over 2 years it is on its death bed. With each system update more of it becomes incompatible. With the latest 10.11.5, the iTunes library is no longer accessable from iDVD.
The only workaround I've found is to drag your iTunes folder into iDVD's Media/Audio pane. You can access the tracks there by artist.
That's about the best we can do.
We only have access to the actual audio files, not the iTunes database that contains the playlists.
However, you can select multiple tracks in the Media pane when holding down the Command key and drag them to the add music box:
I've found that the tracks will play in the order you chose them.

Unfortunately I do not like Apple's policy to abandon the world of DVD.
I 'd like to make a petition to make to resume apple upgrading iDVD and Studio Pro, maybe for Blu-ray .
Petitions and surveys are not allowed in these forums. You'll have to do it somewhere else but you'll be beating a dead horse. The new Macs, except for a few, do not have optical driver and are too thin to have one.
I know you can not do a petition.
But it is the only way to make it clear to Apple, which has sometimes its policy is counterproductive.
I can not understand the obstinacy has to kill a highly functional product, while competitors do not neglect these needs in developing and updating products to make dvd.
