How to slow down garageband blue loops?

Ok, so Im creating songs in version 10.1.2, what i'd like to do is to do what I could do on my iPad and slow down a loop to half speed, or speed it up, individually, not the whole track. I know about tempo track etc... But on the iPad when you slow down a loop to half speed, it still fits in with whatever else you're playing with it. I can't seem to find a way to do the same thing on the Mac... Any help would be appreciated x

GarageBand for Mac has two kinds of blue real instrument loops - regular loops and one-shot loops.

A regular loop will conform to the changed tempo in the tempo track and follow changes of the pitch, but a one-shot loop will not do that. One-shot loops are used for sound effects like a door slamming or a gun shot.

I suspect the loop you want to use is a one-shot loop.

When you turn an audio clip into a loop and add it to the loops library, make sure that the length of the audio reign is an exact number of measures, and enable "Type: Loop", not "One-shot".

The Loop Browser will show you only loops that can be looped, but some of them are one-shot and do not follow tempo and pitch.

For the loop you want to use check if it has a key signature and a tempo. If no tempo and key is given, the loop will not change the tempo with the tempo track. See the screenshot below. The loop has been looped, but the tempo is fixed.

Other loops will follow tempo and pitch, if you are seeing a tempo in the loop library.

The loop above will change the tempo, if you locally modify the tempo in the tempo track just for this region.

But GarageBAnd on the Mac does not allow to modify the tempo for the loop alone by setting an attribute of the loop. You have to create control points in the tempo track at the start and the end of the loop and to raise or lower the control points.
